Chiko leaves a note for Tome and travels with Kouhei to an underground laboratory. Ken follows them but is attacked by a resilient girl who survives a metal impact and fire without injury. Dr. Kayama intervenes to help Ken escape. Meanwhile, Kouhei attempts to create the Fourth Form of Water, which is light, and connects this to a poem. Chiko refuses to assist until Kouhei reveals he has captured Shunka and threatens to use her in an experiment. Chiko complies, but Kouhei deceives her. Twenty Faces arrives to rescue Shunka and confronts Kouhei.
