Itaku and Kubinashi continue their battle until Zen steps in to restore order. Hakuzozu, the gatekeeper of Kyoto, blocks the flying ship with a yōkai army and challenges Rikuo to a duel. Rikuo employs his new techniques to destroy the Dakini, which is Hakuzozu's weapon. After being defeated, Hakuzozu requests death, but Rikuo spares him and invites him to join his side. Despite their leader's defeat, the yōkai army initiates an attack on the flying ship as it approaches the dark outskirts of Kyoto.
