Ep. 49: Ayoyama investigates baseball player diets while Kaibara visits a beef restaurant with the team owner.

Ayoyama, a reporter for Number One Sports magazine, writes an article on baseball player diets with assistance from Yamaoka and Kurita. Meanwhile, a major team owner invites Kaibara to a new beef restaurant where he hopes to try Miyazakigyu. The reporters visit two camps where ryokan are supposed to provide balanced diets, but players prefer gyuniku, yakiniku, soft drinks, and snacks. The Number One Sports editor in chief asks Yamaoka to report his findings to the owner at the restaurant, where they find Kaibara dining. After tasting the meat, Yamaoka and Kaibara criticize its lack of flavor. The next day, they visit the farm, and Kaibara asks Yamaoka to choose the calf that will produce the best beef. Yamaoka chooses one but is criticized because the calves are male and castrated, whereas Kaibara states the best beef comes from cows who have not yet given birth. Yamaoka is devastated by his mistake, but Ayoyama publishes the article based on their research, which is well-received.
