Tomii suffers embarrassment after reacting to a rat in a subway, leading HR director Hiyama to reprimand him and threaten the Ultimate Menu project. Yamaoka attempts to cheer Tomii up but inadvertently supports Hiyama's decision. Seeking revenge, Yamaoka consults director Ohara and leverages an invitation from Mr Black to Mr Hassho's Edo-themed performance for inspiration. During a formal dinner, Yamaoka serves a scalding spring onion and tuna hot pot. Ohara tricks Hiyama into biting a hot stem, causing pain. Tomii dramatically throws himself on the floor, feigning a severe reaction to save Hiyama from public humiliation. Hiyama later realizes the scheme, attacks Yamaoka in rage, but eventually joins in the laughter at Mr Black's show.
