Ep. 9: Amane and Mahiru enjoy a day out at a cat café and arcade while navigating their growing feelings.

With a week off school, Mahiru invites Amane on a date involving a cat café, arcade, and shopping. She teaches Chitose to cook, during which she pinches Amane’s cheek while he sleeps. Amane is surprised by Mahiru’s effort in dressing up, and they hold hands throughout the day. At the café, Amane compares Mahiru to a cat. Yuta interrupts their arcade visit, prompting Mahiru to question Amane’s low self-esteem. The following day, Yuta’s probing questions help Amane reflect on his emotions. Back home, Amane discovers Mahiru viewing his childhood photos. A struggle over her phone leads to a near-kiss, but Amane resists and pinches her cheek instead. Mahiru appears disappointed when he avoids looking at her face.
