Claudia kills Isaac to appease Daisuke Godo, though Reiji reveals the sniper attack occurred after Randy Weber’s death, disproving Isaac’s involvement. Reiji plants stolen money at Wisemel’s mansion to implicate him in Judy’s death. At the apartment, Cal offers to assist Reiji, but he refuses to involve her further. Reiji confesses his self-loathing as a member of phantom Zwei, explaining he kills due to karma and divine purpose rather than desire. He weeps, wishing to return to a world of happiness with Cal, asking God to let him join her world upon death. Cal agrees to enter his dark world. Meanwhile, Scythe Master reveals he framed Reiji for killing a Godo clan member to manipulate Shiga and Claudia. The Godo clan leader and his brother force Lizzie to lure Reiji into a trap, as he departs promising to reclaim his true self.
