Ep. 23: Lizzie faces a moral crisis while Drei kidnaps Mio and threatens Reiji.

Reiji appears distant from Mio, while Eren arranges a boat pickup in five days. Lizzie discovers Drei has stolen weapons and recalls her training, feeling responsible for protecting the young Cal from Scythe’s manipulation. During a date, Reiji expresses relief that Cal survived, though he omits details. Afterward, Drei abducts Mio at gunpoint, intending to kill her to force the bosses to ignore her safety, allowing Drei to assassinate Zwei. Lizzie confronts them, refusing to shoot Cal despite the opportunity, remembering Claudia and Romero. Cal then shoots Lizzie, who dies believing the burden of killing was too heavy. Drei holds Mio captive, revealing Mio’s father leads the Godo family, and threatens Reiji. Eren and Reiji split up to rescue Mio, with Eren confident in exploiting Drei’s emotional instability. Meanwhile, Shiga demands Mio’s return from Scythe, who promises to deploy his new army of Phantoms, claiming they are rational and invincible.
