Ep. 22: Drei confronts Ein in church while Reiji intervenes, leading to complex phantom dynamics and Inferno threats.

In a church, Drei identifies herself as the current phantom and confronts Ein, the ex-phantom, intending to kill them both. Reiji enters, aiming his gun at Cal to stop the violence, but realizes the person before him is not the Cal he loved. Irritated by the standoff, Drei prepares to shoot Ein until Lizzie intervenes, forcing a retreat. Reiji contacts Shiga, warning him about Mio, while discussing his past with Ein in a park. Inferno’s higher-ups order Scythe Master, Drei, and Lizzie to stand down because Mio is being held hostage. At a bar, Drei expresses her hatred for Reiji to Lizzie, who is unaware that the Cal she trusts is actually Drei. Meanwhile, Reiji and Mio are tricked into a date by Sanae, where Mio reflects on Reiji’s appreciation for normal life. After Mio leaves, Drei appears, declaring the game has begun. Reiji offers himself for death to save Ein, but Drei rejects this, punching him in anger over his perceived abandonment. Later, Drei defeats street thugs using her pocket watch.
