Ep. 16: Hachimaki Overcomes Space Trauma With Friends' Help at Von Braun

After surviving a solar flare, Hachimaki suffers mental trauma that threatens his astronaut career. He undergoes two weeks of rehabilitation tests on the Moon under Tanabe's supervision. During the final test, he hallucinates a version of himself urging him to quit. Believing he will be grounded, Hachimaki escapes the hospital to commit suicide like Roland. Tanabe, Yuri, and Fee locate him outside. They take him to the Jovian exploration ship Von Braun testing site. There, they show him the Tandem Mirror Engine, the most powerful engine ever built. This sight inspires Hachimaki to conquer his fear of outer space and continue his journey.
