Ep. 17: Claire monitors crew while Werner seeks veteran engineer Goro for Von Braun mission

Claire is reassigned to monitor the flight crew and assist Cheng-Shin following a series of mistakes. Werner Locksmith, head designer of the Jupiter Exploration Mission, visits the Debris Section to find Goro Hoshino, Hachimaki’s father. Goro is revealed to be a veteran of several Mars missions, and Locksmith hopes to recruit him as Chief Engineer for the Von Braun due to his fusion engine experience. After Locksmith departs, Goro emerges from hiding, stating his desire to settle down on Earth. Subsequently, all lunar departures are canceled after the research laboratory housing the Tandem Mirror Engine explodes. Locksmith’s practical response to the disaster convinces Goro to join the Von Braun crew.
