The Rising Volt Tacklers reach Motostoke in Galar to search for Liko's grandmother. They visit a Battle Café owned by Mitchell, Murdock's former partner, who initially refuses to battle him. Murdock explains their friendship ended due to a disagreement over their Milcery evolving into a Ruby Mix Alcremie, which favored Murdock's pastry skills. Liko convinces Mitchell to engage in a double battle with her and Murdock. This contest evolves into a baking competition, helping the two chefs reconcile their differences. Afterward, the group encounters Motostoke Gym Leader Kabu, as Roy hopes he possesses information regarding Rayquaza.
