While searching for the Galar Mine, Liko, Roy, and Friede take shelter from a rainstorm in a cabin. There, they discover a sick Hatenna suffering from empathy-induced anguish due to its powers. Liko brings the Pokémon aboard the Brave Olivine for care, but it hides to escape the Rising Volt Tacklers' overwhelming emotions. Liko successfully coaxes it out by sharing her own anxiety, which soothes the creature. Once the storm passes, Liko prepares to return Hatenna to the wild. However, Sprigatito persuades the Pokémon to remain. Liko captures Hatenna, committing herself to studying Pokémon feelings.
