Ep. 17: Ash's New Scraggy Hatches During Journey to Castelia City

Ash, Iris, and Cilan rest en route to Castelia City when Axew announces that Ash’s Pokémon Egg is hatching. Iris tells Axew he will soon be a big brother. In excitement, Axew knocks the egg down a hill, but Pikachu catches it before it hits a rock. The egg hatches into Scraggy, the Molting Pokémon, which leers at Pikachu and attempts a Headbutt but misses. Ash tries to train Scraggy by having it fight his other Pokémon, but Scraggy remains rude and fails at various attacks, causing it to lose confidence. Meanwhile, Pierce directs Team Rocket to bring a stolen meteorite to a lab for study.
