Ep. 16: Ash challenges Lenora again at the Nacrene Gym for the Basic Badge
Ash trains Tepig and Oshawott at the Nacrene City Pokémon Battle Club, teaching them Flame Charge and Aqua Jet. He challenges Lenora for the Basic Badge, discovering her Lillipup has evolved into Herdier. Ash battles with Tepig, who endures Herdier’s Roar. Lenora switches to Watchog, trapping Oshawott with Mean Look. Oshawott misses Aqua Jet and suffers from Confuse Ray, but withstands Thunderbolt. Both Oshawott and Watchog faint from a clash of Aqua Jet and Thunderbolt. Lenora returns Herdier, and Ash sends out Tepig. Trained at the Battle Club, Tepig dodges Shadow Ball attacks. Lenora orders Giga Impact, but Tepig counters with Flame Charge. Tepig survives the collision, winning the match. Lenora awards Ash the Basic Badge. Ash visits the Pokémon Center and learns the next Gym is in Castelia City.
