Ash and companions discover a sick Cubchoo in a degraded forest, triggering an attack by angry Beartic. Meowth attempts negotiation but is hit by Icy Wind until Mienfoo intervenes. Forest Ranger Cliff explains the mountain hosts two Beartic tribes and nearly captures Meowth with a Poké Ball. The group searches for the Cubchoo’s tribe but is attacked, causing them to fall off a cliff and separate from their Pokémon. While the gang searches for the group, the Pokémon find food for Axew and Cubchoo. Meowth returns stolen food to the Beartic but is struck by Icy Wind again. The two Beartic tribes clash with Sheer Cold, causing boulders to roll down. The gang’s Pokémon destroy three boulders, while the Beartic freeze the last one, leading to peace. The group departs for Nimbasa City, where Team Rocket prepares their final mission stage.
