While visiting Harvest Island, Ash and his companions encounter Pokémon Reporter Alexa, who traveled from the Kalos Region accompanied by her Gogoat and Helioptile. She is there to cover the local fruit harvest festival. The group discovers that the event includes a Pokémon Sumo tournament. To compete for the grand prize, which is a Focus Band, Ash, Iris, and Cilan decide to participate. They enter their respective Pokémon, Pignite, Dragonite, and Pansage, into the sumo competition. The episode focuses on the interactions between the travelers and the reporter, as well as the preparation for the upcoming tournament matches on the island.
