During beach training, Lana's Popplio and Ash's Rowlet become trapped in a balloon that is swept away by strong winds. Rowlet bursts the balloon, causing both Pokémon to crash into Team Rocket's secret base. Meowth and Mareanie pursue them until Litten intervenes to rescue them. While Ash, Lana, and Mallow search for the missing pair, Litten leads them to its hiding spot with an old Stoutland. Stoutland requests Litten's assistance in locating their trainers, but the group faces the added danger of Team Rocket actively hunting them down.
