Ash and the Alolan visitors travel to Cerulean City to visit Misty’s Gym. Professor Kukui explains Gym Battles and Leagues, then organizes practice matches where Mallow, Lana, and Lillie compete against Misty and Brock. Following these exercises, the students engage in official Gym Battles. Kiawe battles Brock, while Ash faces Misty. Both trainers reveal Key Stones and utilize Mega-Evolution to power up their Pokémon. Kiawe’s Z-Move Inferno Overdrive fails against Brock’s Mega-Evolved Steelix, resulting in a loss. In the second match, Ash and Pikachu employ an unorthodox strategy to defeat Misty’s Mega-Evolved Gyarados using the Z-Move Gigavolt Havoc.
