Ash accidentally splashes dirty water on Lycanroc during a bath, triggering its unexpected red-hot temper. While Ash wonders about Gladion's whereabouts, Nebby teleports him and Pikachu to his location. There, they encounter Silvally, a Pokémon designed to defeat Ultra Beasts. Gladion suspects Nebby is an Ultra Beast and demands to know Ash's identity. Ash proposes a battle to prove his character, pitting his Dusk-Form Lycanroc against Gladion's Silvally. Although Lycanroc fights well, its inexperience leads to a temper tantrum that results in defeat. Despite the loss, Gladion determines that Ash is trustworthy, marking the beginning of their growing friendship.
