James's Mareanie learns a Dark-type move, prompting Team Rocket to pursue their Dark-type Z-Crystal. The Boss directs them to Ula'ula Island to obtain a Z-Ring from a former associate. At the library, Acerola recounts the tale of Greedy Rapooh, a Gengar with a history of theft. This creature steals the Z-Crystal and abducts Acerola. Kahuna Nanu, Acerola's uncle, observes Team Rocket fighting to save her. He provides them with a Z-Ring to aid the rescue. After the conflict concludes, Acerola rewards the trio with a special Z-Crystal designed for Mimikyu.
