With assistance from Acerola, Ash reaches the Ruins of Abundance on Ula'ula Island to meet the guardian deity Tapu Bulu. His objective is to undergo rigorous training with the guardian in preparation for an upcoming rematch against the Island Kahuna Nanu. After Ash proves the strength of his bond with his Pokémon, Tapu Bulu initiates a battle against both Ash and Lycanroc. This intense encounter results in significant skill development, as Lycanroc successfully learns the move Stone Edge and Rowlet acquires Razor Leaf during the confrontation.
