Ep. 6: Sara Protects Illiterate Becky from Headmistress's Cruelty at Seminary
Aired on February 10, 1985

6
The Headmistress mails student letters and orders Amelia to involve Sara in errands, allowing Lottie to join Sara. Sara encounters Becky, an illiterate girl seeking Miss Minchin's Select Seminary for Young Ladies. The Headmistress expresses disgust at Becky's presence, summons head maid Molly, and reprimands Amelia for involving Sara. She dislikes servants and shows contempt for Becky, forcing her to work immediately. Molly assigns Becky unknown chores like delivering coal. Cesar trips Becky, scattering the coal. Sara intervenes to prevent Becky's dismissal. Becky is ordered to rise early and light the fire, as losing her position might be a minor issue compared to other potential consequences for the girl.
