Giant Mettaur viruses subsequently attack DenTech City, but Lan and Chaud defeat them. MegaMan is then captured by Bass, who demands the Ultimate Program to fight Duo. Lan and Chaud rush to rescue him, encountering Dr. Wily, an old rival who appears to understand the situation.

Oct 9, 2004ProtoMan arrives to assist against Bass as giant viruses threaten the real world. Lan and Chaud prepare to send their NetNavis to a comet, but Bass intervenes to defeat the Earth-threatening power himself. Bass encounters Slur, a subordinate of Duo, and is swiftly defeated. Duo, an intergalactic force seeking to erase Earth following Dr. Regal's darkness activities, is convinced by Lan and Chaud to spare the planet. Duo then challenges them to prove humankind's worth. Following this incident, Lan receives the Crest of Duo, a marking on his palm.

BlazeQuest launches Progress PETs while Lan encounters abusive zookeeper Inukai who summons Asteroid SavageMan for revenge.
Oct 16, 2004BlazeQuest introduces new Progress PET models. During a commercial shoot, Lan meets Inukai, a zookeeper who mistreats animals. After facing trouble, Inukai’s anger summons Slur, resulting in him receiving Asteroid SavageMan to seek vengeance. These Asteroid NetNavis manifest in the real world without Dimensional Areas, creating conflicts for Lan and Chaud. Dr. Wily assists by helping produce a Dimensional Area Generator. This technology enables the Sci-Labs to create Dimensional Areas on demand, addressing the threat posed by the rogue NetNavis appearing outside their usual digital boundaries.

Slur exploits this aversion by providing Mameo with the Asteroid VineMan, a NetNavi designed to eliminate all vegetables worldwide. This threat deeply upsets Lan because vegetables are essential for making curry. Consequently, Lan and Chaud locate Mameo to intervene. However, the situation escalates when VineMan betrays Mameo and attacks him. Lan and Chaud must then step in to rescue Mameo from his own NetNavi, stopping the destruction before it is too late.

Oct 30, 2004During a NetSaver investigation, Lan observes helicopter pilot Charlie Airstar at the crime scene and assumes he is the culprit. In reality, Charlie is independently tracking the true perpetrator, DNN network director Sunayama, who even follows him to Lan's school. Sunayama deploys the robot Asteroid DesertMan to counter the investigation. To stop the threat, MegaMan and ProtoMan join forces with Charlie’s GyroMan. The combined team works together to defeat Sunayama and his mechanical opponent, resolving the conflict that Lan initially misunderstood due to Charlie’s suspicious presence at the scene.
