While returning from a play, Kenshin and Kaoru witness a foreign prince being assaulted by bandits. Kenshin steps in to help, and because the prince sustains injuries, they bring him back to the dojo for care. It is discovered that the prince bears a striking resemblance to Yahiko Myojin. Consequently, Yahiko assumes the prince's identity to attend an upcoming banquet. During the event, the bandits launch another attack. Kenshin and Sanosuke Sagara are present to defend Yahiko and ensure his safety throughout the confrontation.
