Kochō’s guest, Karin, finds Shūrei cute but departs upon seeing a painting. Shūrei and her companions discover that the artworks are forgeries and uncover counterfeit coins while still in Kogaro. They set out to identify the culprit with assistance from Shin Suou, an official who previously proposed to Shūrei. The group locates numerous fake items in local shops. Meanwhile, Seiran observes that someone is trailing them. The team works to solve the mystery of the widespread fraud and the identity of the person following them through the town.
