While searching for forgeries, Shūrei and her group notice increasing costs for household items and seek assistance from Sai Rin. Shin Suou wonders why Shūrei persists despite being suspended. Meanwhile, Karin returns to the Kogaro and identifies a painting Kochō displayed. She visits the location and is found by Ryūki and his group. Shūrei and her team arrive shortly after, realizing the site is Shin Suou's residence. Shin Suou guides them to a locked building and opens the door to reveal Banri, Karin's son, creating the forgeries.
