Sorata attempts to enlist help for Mashiro, but the group decides he must handle it alone. He helps her dress and skips breakfast, leading to a convenience store visit where Mashiro eats a roll before paying. There, Sorata encounters his classmate Nanami Aoyama finishing her shift. At school, Mashiro declines his offer to walk her home, and he later observes her leaving with an older woman named Ayano. Back at the dorm, Sorata and Jin Mitaka discover Misaki Kamiigusa has prepared cabbage for Jin's birthday. They follow the trail to Jin's room, where Misaki jumps out of a box wearing only a ribbon. Later, Mashiro asks Sorata to pose nude for her manga. He agrees, and she begins working. The next morning, Sorata learns that Mashiro is actually a famous painter.
