Ep. 4: Sorata faces personal revelations and a manga competition outcome at Sakura Dormitory

Sorata announces his departure, upsetting Mashiro. During a Tanabata celebration at Sakura Dormitory, rain interrupts the event. Mashiro learns she lost the competition. Sorata attempts to comfort her but says something unintentional, leading him to flee into the rain. Jin consoles Sorata, admitting he sometimes wishes Misaki would fail to seem less distant. Sorata shares similar feelings about the manga contest. The next day, while searching for a cat with Nanami, a woman in a car informs Sorata that Mashiro lost because a main character left. Sorata returns to the dorm and confesses his dream of creating video games through Mashiro's door, finding her asleep. He notices she changed the ending so the character stays. A call reveals her manga will be published if she keeps this change. Mashiro wakes and asks Sorata to call her by her first name. Jin and Misaki reveal they heard everything, causing Sorata to declare he wants to stay at Sakura Dormitory.
