Otake cautions Masa against probing Ichi’s past. Yagi invites Masa to spar, recounting his youth and bond with Yaichi, a servant at the neighboring Saegusa household who later died, noting Ichi’s resemblance to him. Ichi’s growing melancholy worries those at Katsuraya. Meanwhile, Souji learns from friend Toku that a former Bakuro gang member hunts Seinoshin for betraying the group. Convinced by these developments, Yagi concludes that Ichi is actually Seinoshin.
