Ep. 22: Yuito and Kaito meet while Karen travels to a past overrun by Others

Yuito collapses after overusing his powers and is taken to a safe house, where OSF soldiers attack until Wataru helps the platoons escape. Yuito and Kasane report seeing Karen assassinate Yakumo Sumeragi inside the Chronos Terminal, suggesting Karen is an ancestor of the current Sumeragi family. Kagero doubts this because Yakumo had a child before dying, but notes access to the Sumeragi Mausoleum is required to verify the claim. Yuito visits his brother Kaito, who has been stripped of his OSF authority. Kaito intends to kill Yuito for his brain, but Yuito mentions their mother and his goal to protect New Himuka. A swarm of Others attacks, and Kaito fights them to allow Yuito to escape, giving him the mausoleum key. Seiran and Suoh forces arrive to fight the Others after Fubuki negotiated a ceasefire to end the Kunad Gate crisis. Meanwhile, Karen’s attempt to travel to the past is disrupted, leaving him in a desolate city overrun by Others.
