With their mother away, Lunar asks Nagasumi to tutor her because she is failing all her classes. Maki observes them and assumes they are flirting, though both deny any romantic feelings. While drying Lunar after she accidentally spills water on herself, she transforms into a mermaid. Nagasumi’s father arrives just as Nagasumi is finishing the process, creating a misunderstanding. Lunar then confesses her new feelings for him, which saves Nagasumi from trouble and results in them becoming engaged.
