Suspecting the caller is the murderer, Lu Guang visits the police and analyzes CCTV footage to identify a license plate. He notices Cheng entered the frame alone, leading the police to suspect Liu Min, who is paralyzed in a hospital accident. In the image, Cheng witnesses Liu Min strangle Emma while driving to an isolated spot. Hearing Emma’s name, Cheng realizes his interference altered her destiny, causing her death. Distressed, he exits the photo just before Liu opens the trunk. Back at the studio, a defeated Cheng admits his actions were futile and accepts blame for distracting Qiao. Qiao is shocked by Cheng’s ability but remains focused on the investigation. Police confirm Liu’s alibi and state Emma could not have been murdered, as footage shows her walking alone on a bridge.
