Cheng chases the man into an alleyway, only to discover he is someone Xu recently rejected, not the killer. Later, Lu Guang texts Xu Dong’s message. The group receives an unusual reply and calls Xu, but a strange man answers with a cryptic message, leaving them concerned.

Lu Guang identifies killer via CCTV while Cheng confronts the tragic fate of Emma
Jun 25, 2021Suspecting the caller is the murderer, Lu Guang visits the police and analyzes CCTV footage to identify a license plate. He notices Cheng entered the frame alone, leading the police to suspect Liu Min, who is paralyzed in a hospital accident. In the image, Cheng witnesses Liu Min strangle Emma while driving to an isolated spot. Hearing Emma’s name, Cheng realizes his interference altered her destiny, causing her death. Distressed, he exits the photo just before Liu opens the trunk. Back at the studio, a defeated Cheng admits his actions were futile and accepts blame for distracting Qiao. Qiao is shocked by Cheng’s ability but remains focused on the investigation. Police confirm Liu’s alibi and state Emma could not have been murdered, as footage shows her walking alone on a bridge.

Cheng intervenes in the photo to save Xu, while Lu Guang locks the attacker in the development room. Cheng negotiates with the attacker inside the image and returns to the present, bringing the attacker out with him from the development room.

Jul 9, 2021Cheng reveals the studio attacker was part of his plan to secure Xu's safety. He traps the attacker, revealed as Liu Min, in a development room and uses victim photographs during their fight. Authorities arrest Liu Min, who claims a friend committed the killings, confusing investigators due to his inconsistent paralysis and lack of mental illness diagnosis. Cheng retrieves CCTV footage of Emma to prevent her death. Liu Min, fearing he killed Emma after a near-discovery in his car trunk, rushed to a hospital. Emma regains consciousness, causing Liu to crash. She survives but attempts suicide by jumping off a bridge. Cheng intervenes, revealing his ability to encourage her. Emma’s eyes change, and she jumps. In the present, Qiao’s eyes change similarly, and she stabs Lu Guang. Cheng and Lu Guang realize another person can possess bodies. Cheng returns to the present to find a bloody Lu Guang, while possessed Qiao taunts Cheng about their reset game.
