Ep. 2: Toshio investigates mysterious anemia deaths while Natsuno feels watched by Megumi's spirit.

Toshio is stunned by Megumi’s death from anemia and requests an autopsy, but her father refuses. During the funeral, Natsuno encounters nurse Ritsuko Kunihiro and declines a gift from Kaori, claiming he was not close to Megumi. Hospital staff determine the anemia is rare but cannot identify the cause. As more unexplained deaths occur, including one patient who avoids doctors, Toshio and Seishin meet councilman Ishida. He reveals ten people died mysteriously between Sotoba and Mizobe recently. Suspecting an epidemic, the trio investigates discreetly to avoid panic, with Toshio vowing to save the village. Meanwhile, Natsuno closes his window to block Megumi’s gaze, yet still feels watched from outside.
