Ep. 3: Seishin writes Shiki while Natsuno reunites with Toru and Ritsuko in Mizobe.

Seishin writes a novel about the undead titled Shiki. Natsuno travels to Mizobe with best friend Mutou Toru and Ritsuko, where they encounter classmate Masao Murasako, who harbors strong animosity toward Natsuno due to his family estrangement. Natsuno reflects on his initial isolation before befriending Toru. Meanwhile, Toshio investigates anemia cases and learns that childhood friend Mikiyasu Yasumori’s wife, Nao, is deteriorating after meeting the Kirishiki couple. Seishin meets Kirishiki Sunako, who acknowledges his past suicide attempt. Nao dies the following day. Masao visits Toru’s home to report the death, nearly fighting Natsuno before Toru intervenes. Toru then encounters Tatsumi, the Kirishiki steward, who ominously predicts their next meeting.
