Zolgear temporarily incapacitates Basara with an erotic illusion and reveals the remains of Maria’s mother to Maria. This sight awakens immense power in Mio, though she initially contains it. Zolgear loses his right arm while trying to seize Mio’s strength. As Mio seeks revenge for her foster parents’ deaths, Basara stops her to prevent her future from being tainted by despair. Zolgear retreats and encounters Lars, who survived by using puppet dummies and intends to kill Zolgear to avenge Mio’s caretakers. The barrier around the lair vanishes, transforming the structure into a giant demonic monster. Trapped inside, Zest guides Basara, Mio, and Yuki to the vital core, where they destroy the beast.
