Mana reveals to Yorito that Aono is a Yaka, though he doubts her until he confronts his sister about her secrets. He meets Matsuri at the abandoned building where he stabbed her in episode seven. To prove the truth, Matsuri stabs him with Takeshi's sword, prompting Yorito to question his memories of hundreds of years ago. The truth emerges: Yorito is not Aono's biological brother but a paper puppet she crafted. Aono created him to fill the void left by her true brother's death years ago. She gave them matching names and appearances, manipulating his memories to find a peaceful place for them to live without disturbance.
