Kaji accidentally kisses Ibari while drunk, causing a heart attack, and later falls ill, prompting Hibari to manipulate Tsubame into visiting him. Tsubame meets Kaji’s mother, who resembles him, and blames herself for his condition despite Ibari’s warnings. The boxing club loses morale without Kaji, who insists on fighting the final round despite his illness. He cheats by claiming tuberculosis to scare his opponent and is disqualified. His condition is revealed to be a Coughing Bug triggered by excitement, which his nurse removes unorthodoxly. Tsubame remains unimpressed, but Kousaku suspects she hides her feelings. Hibari attempts to kiss Kousaku, causing him to accidentally swallow the Coughing Bug.
