Kai challenges Megumi for pretending to befriend everyone, noting she dislikes situations where she is not the center of attention. Aiko also recognizes her manipulative behavior when Megumi attempts to exclude Mei from conversation. After reading negative online comments, Megumi abandons her photo shoot, buys junk food, and isolates herself in her apartment in a depressed state. Meanwhile, Mei and Yamato visit Land, where Nagi joins them after persuading her brother Daichi to take her there because she wanted to see Mei. During the outing, Yamato notices Mei is frightened but trying to remain brave. That night, Nagi falls asleep, and Yamato takes both girls to a hotel, placing Nagi in bed while pretending to sleep on a couch. He embraces Mei as she approaches. The next morning, Mei wakes in her own bed as Yamato answers a call from Megumi’s magazine, learning she is missing and unreachable.
