Ep. 9: Naofumi seeks holy water in the capital while Melty joins the party.

Naofumi travels to the capital for holy water to heal Raphtalia, meeting blue-haired Melty and her Filorials. Filo befriends Melty, who then joins Naofumi’s group. In the capital, Filo and Melty explore separately while Naofumi and Raphtalia visit the Capital Church. Clergy discriminate against Naofumi as the Shield Hero, but the Pope grants the request. Naofumi later encounters Motoyasu, who demands he free his new slave. When Naofumi refuses, Motoyasu attacks recklessly, aided by Malty. Melty intervenes, ordering them to stop. Filo, revealed as Naofumi’s Filolial steed, kicks Motoyasu away. At a weapon-smith shop, Melty explains she is the second princess and heir apparent. However, Naofumi distrusts royals and rudely dismisses her before she can ask for help.
