Ran and Midori discover their teacher Ueda injured by a leopard after falling from a tree, leading to school cancellation. They investigate Junpei’s home, where he reveals a tiger is his brother before transforming into the leopard. The group then visits the school’s old beech tree, encountering transformed humans and their former teacher Momoko. There, they meet Ōgami, an ancient wolf spirit known as the Great Mother. She explains that humans once lived in harmony with animals but are now destined for eradication. Ran, Midori, and Rui witness these events as the truth about the town’s strange occurrences unfolds, revealing the deep connection between the transformed individuals and the spirit’s ancient grievances against humanity.
