Seeking activities for Golden Week, Rui suggests visiting Hayate Village to research a sorceress who uses Emahi grass to control people. Ran receives images from a town resident regarding an unresolved injustice. Ran, Rui, and Midori join Ran's father and brother on the trip. Upon arrival, the group faces unprovoked attacks from villagers. While Ran and Rui search for clues, Midori remains behind. A man arrives looking for Takizawa, a friend of Ran's father Ronpei, who is currently absent. Ran continues to hear voices, and the man later suffers a car accident nearby. Midori warns Ran about the village's extreme danger as the mystery deepens.
