Following the battle of Isla, a funeral honors the fallen, prompting Chiharu to break down while laying a wreath for Mitsuo. The Council opts for a temporary alliance against the Holy Levamme Empire and retreats from the Holy Springs. Kal-El discovers Claire secretly mourning, comforting her guilt over abandoning classmates before they share a kiss. She reveals his true name, Karl La Hire, and he realizes she is Nina Viento, stating this is their final meeting as Sky Clan planes resume bombing. Ariel observes Kal-El’s depression and learns from Nina that she can no longer fly, vowing to restore his ability. Despite Ariel quitting mechanics due to injuries to help him, Ignacio eventually drags the depressed Kal-El out to fight in the lake.
