Mikoto rushes to rescue Ruiko from suited individuals searching for Shadow Metal, only to find they are security officers. Meanwhile, Kazari uses hacking skills to locate the source of the Shadow Metal rumor but keeps this information secret. The following day, Mikoto learns that Misaka 10032 has gone missing after being taken by an ambulance. She discovers the drivers were manipulated by Misaki and fails to extract answers from them. Consequently, Mikoto is placed under the guard of Misaki's clique. She eventually uncovers that Misaki has stolen the memories of Kuroko, Ruiko, and Kazari regarding her existence, leaving her isolated from her closest allies.
