Ep. 16: Family conflict at a beach cafe and Ryunosuke's enrollment at Tomobiki High School
During late summer, Lum, Shinobu, Ataru, and Shutarou encounter the Fujinami family running a seaside café. Tension arises between father and teen Ryunosuke, who refuses to inherit the business. After discovering Ryunosuke is female, the boys attempt to flirt unsuccessfully before trying to mediate the dispute, which only increases chaos. Following the café's destruction, Ryunosuke and her father take live-in jobs at Tomobiki High School's supply store. Ryunosuke enrolls as a student, causing friction with Ataru due to her popularity among girls. The boys buy her a sailor uniform after persuading her father. Seeking advice on femininity, Ryunosuke writes to Ran, who mistakes the note for a romantic advance from a boy. Their subsequent date is interrupted by Ataru.
