Ep. 8: Ruthven expels Vanitas while Chasseurs abduct a curse-bearer in Paris

Lord Ruthven informs Noé and Vanitas that Charlatan attempted to assassinate Lucius, the future Grand Duke of Oriflamme, at Castle Carbunculus. Vanitas seeks an audience with the queen, suspecting she is dead or gone due to her absence, which enrages Ruthven. He banishes Vanitas from his castle and returns Noé and Vanitas to the human world, validating Vanitas' suspicions. Meanwhile, Dante reveals that a Chasseur from the Church's anti-vampire unit abducted a curse-bearer who entered Paris, taking the captive to their headquarters in the catacombs. That night, Noé and Vanitas steal two guards' uniforms and infiltrate the catacombs through the floor of Notre Dame to locate the Chasseurs. They encounter Roland Fortis, who sees through their disguise, traps Vanitas in a cell, and blinds Noé with a flash grenade. Fortis then injects himself with a green serum to enhance his abilities and prepares to kill the vampire, Noé.
