Ep. 26: Oscar investigates the Black Knight while Andre secretly hunts the true vigilante.
Aired on April 9, 1980

Oscar suspects Andre is the Black Knight, a masked figure stealing from the rich to help the poor, after he spends excessive time outdoors. She attends balls where the Knight strikes, leading to a chase at Palais Royale, Orleans' manor, where she is injured by guards but saved by the Knight. After collapsing, she has a nightmare about Andre’s death and is rescued by Rosalie, who left the Polignacs to avoid marrying Guiche. Rosalie declines Oscar’s offer to return to the manor, preferring city life away from nobility. Back at Versailles, Andre denies being the Knight, revealing he attends a church discussing "The New Age." He dresses as a fake Knight to lure the real one, who eventually confronts him and slashes his left eye.
