Ep. 6: Thorfinn joins Askeladd’s band, kills his first man, and is later rescued before the village is raided.

Askeladd and his crew travel upriver to Gainsborough, discovering dead Vikings. He negotiates with Danish forces to join their campaign to conquer England in exchange for money and spoils. During the night, British forces launch an arrow attack, killing several men before the Vikings retaliate. Thorfinn attempts to join the fight but is cornered by an English swordsman. Askeladd intervenes to save him, yet Thorfinn eventually defends himself and kills an English soldier for the first time. He subsequently joins Askeladd’s band, spending years refining his combat abilities with a short sword. Driven by a desire for revenge against Askeladd, he becomes a ruthless fighter. While in East Anglia, Thorfinn suffers severe wounds and is cared for by an English girl and her mother. Later, he signals Askeladd’s anchored ships, leading his men to land and raid the village.
