Yuuko explains the spider took revenge by stealing his eye, though Watanuki insists the grudge should target him. That night, a strong wind restores Doumeki’s vision. The following morning, Watanuki arrives at school with a bandaged right eye. Doumeki removes the bandage to reveal Watanuki’s eye is blank and blind, angering Doumeki. Later, Watanuki sees Doumeki carrying many old books on reversing spells. Yuuko confirms Doumeki is attempting to lift the spider’s curse himself.
