Ep. 5: Watanuki and Kohane bond over a haunting spirit at the temple tree
During a picnic with Himawari and Doumeki, Watanuki encounters Kohane Tsuyuri, a well-known medium who appeared on television. Although her mother warns Watanuki to avoid her, Kohane senses a shared connection. Yuuko confirms that Kohane is genuine and possesses similar abilities. The following day, Doumeki reports seeing the girl with the eye he provided. Watanuki meets her again at a cherry blossom tree within the temple grounds, where they jointly witness a female ghost sustaining the ancient tree. Realizing the spirit keeps the tree alive, they decide to assist her by leading her to Doumeki's temple. They agree to become friends before parting ways. Kohane returns home to face a strained relationship with her mother, who exploits her medium abilities for financial gain.
